Thomas Tuchel Expresses Disappointment Over Home Crowd Support Despite Emphatic Win Over Wales.

The England head coach voiced his regret that the Three Lions team did not receive greater support from the Wembley crowd during their decisive friendly win against Wales on Thursday evening.

Tuchel was satisfied to see his squad showcase their strong performance, with goals from Morgan Rogers, Ollie Watkins, and Saka inside the initial stages settling the game. Yet, he was displeased with the mood at the iconic venue.

“With limited sessions to get ready against a well-trained team and we performed excellently,” the coach stated. “We could have been five goals ahead at the break. We missed the additional ones. The stadium was silent. There was no support from the crowd. We did everything to win.”

“What more can you provide in 20 minutes? We didn’t let them escape. When you only hear just the Welsh supporters for half an hour, it’s sad because the squad earned greater backing today.”

“I support my words. We cannot do more than being 3-0 in a rivalry match. I hoped for a greater support in moments where it is challenging.”

“In the second half, to support us, there was a bit too much backing for the opposition. It might have aided us to regain energy, but it is what it is and so be it.”

Squad Decisions Vindicated by Performance

Away from potentially starting a dispute among fans, the manager also raised eyebrows by omitting Bellingham and Phil Foden from his squad. However the decision was backed up by Rogers delivering another standout performance in the attacking midfield role and netting his maiden goal for his country.

“He plays his game,” the head coach explained. “He is a No 10 and he is competing for his position.”

Bellamy Hopes for Lessons from Defeat

Craig Bellamy expressed hope that Wales, who host a strong Belgian side in a crucial qualifying match on next week, take lessons from their disappointing performance in the opening period.

“That’s the reason I wanted this friendly,” Bellamy said. “I wanted to assess our current level. What are our ambitions? What is our identity? This performance gives me motivation.”

Fitness Worry for Striker

Ollie Watkins was withdrawn at half-time after hitting a post and will be a doubt when England face their next opponents in the Latvian capital in a World Cup qualifying match on next week.
