Paramount Skydance is scheduled to start significant workforce reductions during the week starting 27 October, removing about 2,000 positions in the United States under a budget-saving initiative totaling $2bn overseen by new chief executive David Ellison.

These job cuts are a result of the union of Skydance Media and Paramount Global, completed in August worth $8.4bn.

Additional global layoffs are anticipated, as the firm aiming to announce all specifics during its Q3 financial results set for the 10th of November.

Previous updates had indicated the firm aimed to reduce between 2,000 to 3,000 positions by the beginning of next month.

As of December 2024, the company retained about 18,600 full- and part-time employees along with 3,500 temporary project employees.
