Battlefield 6 Players Concur: Missions Are Excessively Difficult

The release of the eagerly awaited Battlefield 6 garnered widespread acclaim, especially for its top-tier multiplayer mode. On Steam alone, simultaneous player numbers reached a high of nearly 750,000. Nevertheless, despite its popularity, an increasing amount of players are protesting against several of the title's hardest challenges, which are necessary to obtain particular firearms.

Users have commenced using personalized games created through the Portal feature to achieve these objectives, underscoring just how arduous these missions have become.

Understanding BF6 Tasks

Assignments are Battlefield 6's permanent multiplayer tasks, as opposed to the frequently updated daily and weekly challenges. The game includes four categories of assignments, but while the majority merely grant cosmetics and some tools, finishing the gun missions is the only way of acquiring a dozen out of forty-one key firearms available in the game.

Several of these restricted firearms could shortly find their way on rosters of the finest arms in Battlefield 6.

Community Frustration across Reddit

Within Reddit, players are justifiably voicing their concerns about how hard and tedious a number of these challenges are. A particular gamer pointed out one of the most outrageous examples, mandatory for acquiring the KTS100 MK8 LMG:

  • Subdue 300 opponents with LMGs
  • Cause 10,000 non-ADS damage with LMGs

"This challenge is so awful and completely out of mind, I want to scream in frustration," is a comment that illustrates just how excessively challenging these tasks are.

Suppression in Battlefield is weaker than it's ever been in the series, so it has significantly fewer advantages in battle as it did in previous games. It only tallies as suppression if you fail to hit several consecutive shots.

Meanwhile, hipfiring an LMG is wildly inaccurate and is effective only at point-blank proximity, which isn't typically where you aim to be. The commenter also pointed out the paradox in the SMG challenge, needed to obtain the SCW-10, which needs takedowns using ADS, when that mission would be much better suited to hipfire kills, and the other way around.

Another Overly Demanding Mission

Another Reddit user highlighted an additional excessively hard challenge, now in the sniper rifle category to obtain the PSR:

  • Secure 150 precision takedowns over 200m with sniper rifles

This is difficult enough as it is, but there's another important point to consider: many Battlefield 6 maps don't even support combat at those extended distances.

There is a decent selection of map sizes, but since there are only nine battlegrounds in the game right now, it means you're limited to playing New Sobek City, Mirak Valley, and possibly Operation Firestorm in a best-case scenario if you plan to engage from afar from a significant distance.

The Bypass

However, there is a solution: the custom game tool. The custom game creator is a feature that enables you to make custom game modes on whatever map you choose, complete with bots. This allows you can exploit the mechanics
but it doesn't exactly feel like the spirit of the game.

Yet, if doing the challenges in a proper game feels like anti-playing, since you have to play in such an unorthodox manner that offers no advantage to anyone, who can blame someone for grinding them out in a custom game so allies are not impaired?

Future Adjustments

It is expected if some of these assignments are made easier in the near future, because unless they are modified, some players simply are unlikely to obtain the locked firearms.

Currently, the player base continues to voice their opinions on these demanding multiplayer missions, expecting a less arduous overall gameplay in coming revisions.
