Attorney General Announces Inquiry into President's Opponents and Jeffrey Epstein Ties
On Friday, Pam Bondi assigned Jay Clayton to oversee an inquiry into political adversaries of the President and their relationships with Jeffrey Epstein. This move came just after the president instructed her to initiate the probe.
During an announcement, Bondi highlighted Jay Clayton as “among the nation’s top prosecutors”. The official added, “This case will be addressed with speed and honesty to ensure public transparency.”
This development seems to diverge from a July memo from justice department officials which declared that documents related to Epstein lacked grounds for additional investigations. According to the document, investigators “did not uncover evidence that could predicate an investigation against uncharged third parties”
The President Demands Scrutiny of Democrats in Epstein Case
This news coincides with increasing demands from Trump on lawmakers to oppose the full release of files concerning Epstein ahead of an upcoming House vote in the coming days. Many Republicans are anticipated to support the disclosure.
Newly public emails from Jeffrey Epstein have highlighted Trump’s past involvement with the convicted criminal, revealing details that his knowledge of Epstein’s behavior exceeded prior admissions.
That same day, the President declared he would direct the Department of Justice to examine connections between Epstein and Democratic figures, including prominent individuals such as Clinton, Summers, and Hoffman. Paradoxically, he also described the “Epstein hoax” as a “deception”.
